Another book layout for the same publishing house that did Deception. The idea of being "caught in the middle" was kind of tough to do without being too predictable and dull. I suppose I was inspired by some old Hitchcock movies somewhere deep in my psyche, because what I came up with reminds me of old school crime-suspense movie titles. It started as an idea of someone (the circle) being pushed and pulled in lots of directions, and turned into an abstraction of spider webs and an expanding crack in a window (or windshield). It lended itself nicely to elements throughout the book, such as the pagination and chapter headings.
